A homecoming

Having worked as part of the global TBWA Group for over 14 years across America, Europe and China, and most recently as the vice president of Integer (TBWA’s global shopper retail and promotional marketing agency) in Denver, Budd brings extensive international experience to the new role.

“Robyn has a pedigree in this space that’s really unrivalled,” says TBWA chief executive Todd McLeay. “Our clients are going to be able to draw on Robyn’s vast experience in the advertising, retail and shopper marketing categories to deliver world-class experiences on home shores.”

At Integer, Budd headed advertising and retail campaigns for the likes of Visa, Procter & Gamble, The Pokémon Company International and Michelin. She also led much of the group’s new business development, thought leadership practices and business vision for key accounts.

In 2007, Budd moved to Europe where she was tasked with establishing and growing Integer’s Paris office. As head of Integer, Paris, Budd was instrumental in growing the agency, increasing its client base and delivering against global targets.

Prior to her work with Integer, she held senior positions with Ogilvy in London and New York, as well as Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal & Partners in New York before moving to Los Angeles and finally residing in Denver.

“I’m excited to be home after a long time away, and equally excited to be part of WhybinTBWA and Digital Arts Network,” says Budd. “Our country is world-renowned for its level of creativity and innovation – it’s good to be part an agency that has such a strong reputation for its commitment to creativity and taking brands into new, exciting realms. Marketing in New Zealand has to be precise, insightful and inspiring in order to create the perceptual or behavioural change we are striving to achieve for our clients’ products and brands, and I’m looking forward to creating some really memorable and impactful work.”

Calling it a day

Michael Bowie, who established Jobmedia Ltd in May 1999, has retired from recruitment and as a director and co-owner of the business.

Abbey Carter and Anna Barker, the remaining two shareholders, have announced they have taken over full ownership and will continue to run Jobmedia, servicing clients and candidates.

Completing the team is Sarah Marsh, who has worked in the advertising industry for over 20 years, primarily in account management roles.

An official Jobmedia statement thanked Bowie for contribution to the company:

“It is with much sadness that we farewell Michael from the business he has worked so hard to make the success it is, and thank him for the wonderful opportunity to continue this legacy. We will miss his ‘fatherly’ advice, support, ‘dad’ jokes, and wicked sense of humour, and wish him nothing but the best in his exciting new venture. It’s not ‘goodbye’ from us, rather ‘see you soon’… at his new residence in Kuratau!”

In a statement on his departure, Bowie said that he was confident that he was leaving the company in safe hands.

“Jobmedia has also gone through a number of changes over the last 16 years and is now in the best shape it has ever been,” he said. “Anna and Abbey are without doubt the best recruiters to this Industry. They have built excellent relationships with both candidates and clients. For the last few months the Lennon & McCartney song ‘Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I’m 64’ keeps playing in my head. Jobmedia is in great shape with Abbey & Anna – not to forget Sarah Marsh. Between the the of them, there are many years of Industry experience. So I leave Jobmedia is very good heart and sincerely do wish Anna & Abbey all the very best for the future.”
