Youtube VideoHallensteins has been trying valiantly to add some coolness to the brand in recent years. And, if the much improved first half results for parent company Hallenstein Glasson are anything to go by, that approach is working. But its latest ad, The Power of the Suit, which was made by Publicis Mojo and directed by new Thick as Thieves recruit Jae Morrison, is easily its edgiest yet.
Before the launch of the new season suit range, a national poll was conducted that found 83 percent of Kiwi women love a guy in a suit. And the 60 second spot, which is set to a punked up version of ‘Girls just want to have fun’, follows a group of virile, besuited young chaps on a night out as they discover the survey was right.
Cue come hither eyes, tie grabbing, writhing on car bonnets, rapid clothing removal, sexy pool time and, for creeps with their finger on the pause button, even a flash of side boob at the end. Be still my beating heart.
