Britomart concourse becomes an art gallery

The creative agency True has collaborated with Adshel and the mobile application business StQry (pronounced story) to turn Britomart concourse into an ad-hoc gallery for World of WearableArt (WOW) by putting up 22 large, photographic artworks, which have been carefully chosen from ‘WearableArt,’ a new book that celebrates the WOW Awards Show.

A good night was had by all—or at least most—at the rejuvenated Magazine Awards. Ben Hurley kept the crowd entertained, MPA chair John Baker was typically bullish about the future of the magazine industry, Dr Sarah Sandley was acknowledged for a stellar 20 year career, Bauer’s titles were a welcome addition to proceedings and no-one fell off the Q Theatre stage. Speech of the night went to Rochelle Gillespie from OH!Baby, who implored everyone to keep drinking, make a few more babies and buy their magazine. Last night at the Hopetoun Alpha, a bunch of finely tuned, very well-dressed and alcohol-infused athletes from the marcomms sector took part in the 2013 Global Beer Pong Championship of New Zealand Advertising, an event put on by MediaWorks Radio and supported by Faux Beer. And it was team NWA (Gerhard Simanke and Mark Banbrook from The Radio Bureau) took out the title after a fiercely contested final against Team Cock (Simon Teagle and Rachel Leyland, DraftFCB).
